Qualcomm shows what the Snapdragon 888 has to offer via promo clips

The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset represents an improvement over the SD865 in each category. However, Qualcomm is focusing on some areas in particular, and this can be seen in the first wave of promotional videos.

First, there is gaming. The Adreno 660 GPU is 35% faster than its startup predecessor but can get an additional 30 percent improvement with modern features such as Variable Rate Shading.

The chipset renders HDR graphics, offers lower touch response times, and there are sound enhancements during matches. There is also a video that shows for which games the chipset brings graphics improvements.

Qualcomm's hardware allows small sensors and camera lenses to create outstanding photos. Although it does not represent the manufacturer of sensors and lenses, Qualcomm characterized itself as a "camera company" during the technology summit.

The chipset is the first Snapdragon with a triple ISP, the Spectra 580. This allows for 4K / 120 fps video recording and playback, as well as a burst of 120 frames per second. The chip offers photo creation in 10-bit HEIF and has a new architecture for shooting in low light conditions.

In addition to the above, AI accelerators help to improve the quality of photos and provide various effects. There is also a Sensing Hub that detects various elements (the movement we make when we pick up the phone, the child's crying, etc.).

The Snapdragon 888 implements the new X60 5G modem, which offers high internet speeds and low lag. The local connection is also top-notch, thanks to the FastConnect 6900 system.

Finally, there is the low latency for wireless headphones. The new chipset supports aptX Adaptive and TrueWireless, as well as Aqstic which controls the sound coming from the phone's speakers.
