More than 40 Blizzard employees were punished for discrimination and harassment

Numerous turmoils are underway in the ranks of the Blizzard development team, as well as their parent company Activision. Ever since they faced accusations of discrimination and harassment of minority groups in the studio, Blizzard has been working to get their employees in order and to remove parts in their games that would point to things they are accused of.

Numerous employees have already left the team, some of their free wills, others with dismissal. Now Activision Blizzard has “boasted” that in the process of creating a responsible work environment, they have shared more than 20 dismissals based on an investigation into allegations of abuse. In addition, they punished about twenty other employees with minor forms of sanctions for minor violations of employment.

The company emphasizes that this is only part of a broader process to make their work environment safe and acceptable to all employees. They say that in the future they will work on employee training, transparency of investigations, and a better structure for solving such delicate problems in general.
