Alan Wake 2 has been announced, there will be a survival horror
Alan Wake 2 is in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X, and the approximate release date is set for 2023. During the ten-year break, Alan let go of his beard and hair, and in his new adventure, more danger awaits him than ever before.
The Remedy development studio says that Alan Wake 2 will be a survival horror game with a multi-layered mystery. This probably means that there won't be as much action in the sequel as in the first part, as suggested by the first video in which Alan has no firearms - just an improvised flashlight.

Remedy reports that Alan Wake 2 has always been alive in some form in the last 10 years, and they have tried to realize it several times. However, this Epic Games-funded game is a brand new project that has nothing to do with what Remedy did on the sidelines with Quantum Break and Control. As such, it is in a way a new beginning for Alan Wake, so it is stated that it will not be necessary to know the story of the first part to follow the sequel.
More details about Alan Wake 2 should be found out in half a year, at the Summer Game Fest 2022.
