The vice president of PlayStation Network was fired for a pedophile affair

Last weekend, George Cacioppo, the guy who has been the vice president of PlayStation Network in charge of overseeing the PlayStation Store for the past eight years, was urgently fired from Sony’s PlayStation branch. The 64-year-old Cacioppo was fired after allegedly trying to arrange a date with a 15-year-old boy.

The whole affair came about when representatives of the activist group People v. Preds falsely presented themselves on the Grindr app to catch sexual predators. The PSN vice president also introduced himself under a false name but gave them his address where he planned to meet his target, thinking it was a 15-year-old boy.

Cacioppo was eventually found at that address and filmed with a camera, before shutting himself in the house realizing he had been tricked.

Sony briefly told Cnet that they were aware of the situation and that they had resolved it by dismissal. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
