Handheld PC gaming existed even before Steam Deck was announced, and was advocated by companies such as AyaNeo and GPD. Although Steam Deck has overshadowed its products with a lower price, the aforementioned companies are not giving up on their business. AyaNeo has thus announced a new series of its handheld gaming PCs, called AyaNeo Next.
Devices that look very similar to the Nintendo Switch are based on the AMD Ryzen 7 5800U processor. With the combination of Radeon Vega 8 APUs, AyaNeo Next promises more raw power than Steam Deck, with a more durable 47 Wh battery.
The screen of the AyaNeo Next is similar to the one used on the Steam Deck - it is a 7-inch LCD screen with an IPS matrix, resolution 1280 × 800. The biggest difference between the Aya Neo Next model and the Steam Deck is that it delivers significantly more NVMe disk capacity - as much as two terabytes versus the 512 GB provided by the most expensive Steam Deck model.
Of course, all this will come at a fairly high price - $ 1345 for the most expensive model. For that money, the device allows you to play Cyberpunk 2077 at 23 fps at high settings. Forza Horizon 5 goes a bit better - at 67 fps on medium, and The Witcher 3 at 41 fps also on medium settings.
