Samsung’s next-generation Exynos SoC will have a Radeon RDNA GPU

Samsung Exynos Radeon RDNA GPU

During the release of the Exynos 2100 chipset, Samsung confirmed that the company’s next-generation Exynos SoC will have an AMD RDNA-powered GPU, thanks to a partnership with AMD.

AMD entered into a partnership with Samsung in mid-2019, to enable the mobile giant to integrate the next generation of RDNA technologies into its future mobile chips. Since AMD does not create products in this market segment, this has allowed the company to expand the presence of its Radeon technology to new users and generate revenue from the mobile chip market through licensing.

Thanks to Samsung's confirmation, we now know that AMD's RDNA technology has been successfully implemented in Samsung's solutions. We will probably hear more about the upcoming chipset at the end of 2021, and we will see products with the chipset during 2022.

This suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S22 series phone could feature a Radeon graphics chip.
