GTA V shipped in over 140 million copies

Grand Theft Auto V is one of the best-selling games of all time. The title was published in 2013, and since then it has been selling very well non-stop. During a recent financial report, Take-Two announced that the Rockstar studio game had sold over 140 million copies.

With this sales result, GTA V sealed its lead as the second best-selling game of all time, right behind Minecraft which still holds a record sales of over 200 million copies.

It is especially impressive that during 2020 alone, GTA V was sold in 20 million copies. That makes last year the second best-selling game, right after 2013 when the game was originally released.

As Grand Theft Auto V continues to dominate sales, it remains to be seen how long Rockstar will continue to position GTA V as its most recent Grand Theft Auto V title and how much longer we will have to wait for the GTA VI game to be released.
