SEGA publishing house has just held a Sonic Central stream dedicated to the 35th birthday of its most famous character, the blue hedgehog Sonica. This year, Sonic will appear in a variety of places, from the Tokyo Olympics - i.e. the official video game of the event, to Two Point Hospital, etc. But it will also appear in its games - thankfully.
The first one will be Sonic Colors: Ultimate - a remaster of the 2010 platformer that is known as one of the better Sonic games in the last decade. It will appear with improved graphics and the new Rival Rush mode in versions for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Epic Games Store) from September 7, 2021.
Fans of the classic 2D Sonic will receive Sonic Origins Compilation - a package that will include the games Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD. It is unknown at this time when this compilation will arrive.
Finally - a brand new Sonic game has been announced. We don't know her name yet, it was only revealed that the main Sonic Team is working on her (credited with excellent Generations and less excellent Forces). In the short animation, we see Sonica running through the woods - towards the exit sometime during 2022. The game has been confirmed for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X / S, and Nintendo Switch.
