The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series will reportedly have a 16-core CPU

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series

Although the Ryzen Threadripper line, based on the Zen 1 architecture, had a 16-core SKU, we did not get the 16C / 32T Ryzen Threadripper 3000 chip. As we approach the release of the Ryzen Threadripper 5000 line, it looks like the 16-core chip could be back.

Yuri Bubliy’s Twitter post suggests that AMD could have a 16-core SKU in the pipeline, and posted a cryptic HEX message on his profile suggesting a 16-core processor from the AMD Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series.

The HEX message is translated into ASCII, which reveals that the "Genesis 16 Cores" CPU should be introduced along with the rest of the Ryzen Threaripper 5000 series. The Ryzen Threaripper 5000 series (codenamed Genesis Peak) will be AMD’s HEDT series, based on the Zen 3 architecture.

AMD is expected to announce more details about the HEDT Ryzen Threadripper 5000 series during the CES 2021 virtual fair, later in January.
