The Nintendo Switch gets two Lara Croft games in 2022.
Square Enix has announced that the Nintendo Switch will be richer in 2022 by two games, with Lara Croft in the lead role. However, these will not be games from the main series but spin-off titles. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris sometime during next year, we will be able to play on the Nintendo console. It is the fruit of the 25th anniversary of Lara Croft, and on that occasion, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix decided to honor the players on the Switch.
These are titles that play out an isometric perspective but with the same amount of action and puzzle-solving. The Guardian of Light came out in 2010 and deals with Lara trying to defeat the evil Xolotl, a 2000-year-old guardian of darkness who resurrected in Middle America. Players can embark on this action-adventure on their own or opt for a cooperative adventure of up to two players. Temple of Osiris is a sequel that came out four years later. The action takes place deep in the heart of Egypt, and players also have the opportunity to choose between a solo transition or a cooperative get-together - this time up to four players.
It should be noted that Feral Interactive also works on these two games on the Switch port. This is not the first time that Feral Interactive and Crystal Dynamics will collaborate as the two studios have already worked on the Tomb Raider trilogy for Mac and Linux devices. Feral is also credited with the successful ports of Alien: Isolation and Grid Autosport on the Nintendo Switch.
