Although Steam recently set a record for the number of players who were on the platform at the same time, the service has now surpassed itself again. Steam has now recorded almost 25 million players, who used the platform at the same time.
With 24,805,106 online on the platform or in games, Steam set a new record. Previously, the largest number of users of the platform was recorded at one point in March, when there were over 20 million gamers online.
While not a major reason to set a new record, a significant contribution was made by the release of the Cyberpunk 2077 game, which recorded over a million players on Steam at the same time. Besides, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive also recorded a large number of players, with almost 1.1 million of those in the game at the same time.
As the gaming sector continues to grow, it will be interesting to see how far Steam can progress. Although it is not the only gaming platform, Steam is certainly the strongest service in this field at the moment. Other players, such as GOG and Epic Games Store, continue to gain a gaming audience and create their gaming ecosystem.
