Redmi K40 series

Xiaomi has introduced three new phones as part of its Redmi sub-brand. The Redmi K40 series has been made official, consisting of the standard Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, and Redmi K40 Pro + model. All phones look identical and have some common hardware features.

The Redmi K40 Pro and K40 Pro + are powered by Qualcomm's latest premium chipset - the Snapdragon 888, while the standard Redmi K40 also uses the new, but slightly weaker, Snapdragon 870 SoC.

One of the differences between the phones is in the main camera on the back. So the Redmi K40 has a 48MP sensor, the Pro model uses a 64MP camera, while the Redmi K40 Pro + is equipped with Samsung's 108MP sensor. In addition to the main camera, there is an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 5MP telemacro camera on the back of the phone, while a 20MP sensor is in charge of selfies. Camera features include the ability to record 1080p super slo-mo video @ 960fps.

The phones are powered by a 4520mAh battery, with support for 33W charging via USB-C port, using standard protocols - USB Power Delivery 3.0 and QuickCharge 3.0+. The batteries are 0-100% charged in 52 minutes.

Connection options include support for dual-mode 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and there’s also Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification, NFC, and an IR sensor. Stereo speakers are present, but there is no 3.5mm jack. A fingerprint sensor located in the ignition key is used for verification. MIUI 12, based on Android 11, is in charge of software support.
