Game developers have revealed their nominations for the best games of 2020.

The awards for best video games in 2020 have for the most part already been shared. But one of the more significant awards is another that is usually shared in the third month but has now been moved to the summer due to the effects of the pandemic. This is the Game Developers Choice Award, which is awarded as part of the GDC Convention, and is specific in that the winners are chosen by the members of the video game industry, ie developers. It’s not the only such award, but GDC is the largest gathering of developers in the industry and it still means something.

In general, nominations for GDC 2021 have been announced, whose award ceremony for the best games will be digitally held on July 21. Winners will be chosen in ten categories, with The Last of Us Part II, Ghost of Tsushima, and Hades having the best chances to win. Each of these three games has six nominations. Right behind them with five nominations is Half-Life: Alyx. All these games were also nominated for the prestigious award - for the best game of 2020.
