Microsoft has updated the Age of Empires IV PC requirements for AMD hardware

Microsoft will hold a major Technical Stress Test ahead of the release of the Age of Empires IV game from Sept. 17-20, allowing players to try out the multiplayer components of the title, fight bots, and play a tutorial. The complete game arrives on October 28th.

The stress test will take place on Steam and the Microsoft Xbox Insider Hub app, and will include the English, Chinese, Roman Empires, and the Abbasid Dynasty as playful factions.

In addition, Microsoft has updated the Age of Empires IV PC system requirements on Steam, and this time AMD Ryzen processors and Radeon graphics cards have been added to the list. The rest of the (Intel / Nvidia) PC requirements remained unchanged.

Minimum PC requirements:

  • OS: Windows 10 64bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-6300U or AMD Ryzen 5 2400G
  • GPU: Intel HD 520 or AMD Radeon RX Vega 11
  • RAM: 8GB
  • Storage: 50GB of free space
  • DirectX 12


Recommended PC requirements:

  • OS: Windows 10 64bit
  • CPU: 3.6 GHz 6-core (Intel i5) or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce 970 or AMD Radeon RX 570 with 4GB of VRAM
  • RAM: 16GB
  • Storage: 50GB free space
  • DirectX 12
