Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End - On This Day

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End - On This Day

On this day six years ago, we got Uncharted 4 - one of the most graphically impressive games of the last decade. It was Naughty Dog's first game so far, the old PlayStation 4. It differed from previous parts in the series by a slightly more open approach on some levels, as well as the introduction of accessories for Nathan Drake such as a hook that could be hung on trees. Multiplayer has also introduced some innovations in the form of supernatural powers.

The story of Uncharted 4 served as a kind of conclusion to the saga of Nathan Drake. His thirst for adventure led him in search of an ancient pirate treasure, with the help of his famous mentor Sully, his wife Elena, and his brother Sam, whom he had long since written off.

Uncharted 4 has recorded more than good sales results in these six years. It sold more than the rest of the series in its first week, was the best-selling game of the month it came out (which is impressive because it fought the battle with Overwatch), and was eventually played by more than 37 million players. It is the best result in the series, and it was also the best result for one PS4 exclusive until 2018.

The game has received several significant updates, including HDR and support for the PS4 Pro console. The most significant expansion was DLC, also a separate game Uncharted: The Lost Legacy that came out in 2017. This year, Uncharted 4 also appeared on PlayStation 5 through a remastered edition of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves, with support for native 4K resolution or 120Hz mode. In the middle of the year, the game also comes to the PC platform, for the first time in the history of the series it will no longer be exclusive to the PlayStation.

As things stand now, Naughty Dog has ended with the Uncharted series - or at least the story of Nathan Drake. According to some unofficial information, the future of Uncharted has gone into the hands of Sony Band studio (which made Days Gone), but nothing has been announced yet, nor can it be said with certainty who is working on the next Uncharted and what the game will be like.
