Google has announced it is discontinuing its investment in Stadia Games & Entertainment (SG&E), which is the company’s internal division for the development of first-party games and content for the Stadia gaming streaming platform.

The company has announced that it will continue to invest in the Stadia platform, which includes its further development and focus as platforms for external gaming developers and studios.

Google pointed out that it believes that streaming is the future of gaming. "Streaming games on any screen is the future of the industry, and we will continue to invest in Stadia and its core platform to provide our partners and the gaming community with the best cloud gaming experience," the company said in a statement.

The company also assures Stadia subscribers that it will continue to offer new games and content from independent game developers. "You can continue to play all your games on Stadia and Stadia Pro services, and we will continue to bring new titles to the platform. We are committed to the future of cloud games and will continue to contribute to further target this industry sector," Google said.

Google argues that the company’s goal remains to focus on creating the best possible platform for gamers and technology for partners.
