The AWE expansion for Control has given Alan Wake fans hope that in the near or somewhat distant future they could still see the long-awaited sequel. Well-known gaming journalist and industry insider Jeff Grubb has a similar opinion, claiming that Alan Wake 2 is indeed in preparation and that Remedy and Epic Games are working on it together.
Namely, Grubb claims that several gaming greats "fought" for a partnership with Remedy on the occasion of the development of the sequel to one of the best horror games of the last 20 years and that Epic came out of that race as the winner. According to Grubb, Epic Games will financially help Remedy around the development of Alan Wake 2, and in addition to the PC, the new game should also appear on consoles (probably in PS5 and Xbox Series X / S).
Although this insider did not reveal the source of this information (and it is not an April Fool's joke), all of the above somewhat coincides with earlier information about as many as two games that Remedy is developing for Epic Games, but also earlier promises from Remedy that the next game of this Finnish studio be located in the same universe shared by Alan Wake and Control.
Neither Epic nor Remedy have yet spoken out about this rumor, but we believe that this rumor itself has already shaken up a fairly large army of Alan Wake fans.
