Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition is becoming the most demanding PC game

Anyone who managed to grab cards with support for raytracing effects before their prices skyrocketed will have a real treat next week as the most hardware-intensive PC game arrives. This is not a new game, but an improved edition of the excellent shooter Metro Exodus, which will be free from May 6 to all owners of the PC version on Steam, Epic Games Store, or GOG.

Versions for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S will be available later in 2021.

Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition brings a whole host of new effects, 4K textures, support for DirectX 12 Ultimate, DLSS 2.0, and more. Unlike the previous version which also had support for raytracing, this one seems to be significantly brighter, in response to player complaints that raytracing in the original unnecessarily obscured the game.

You can see a demonstration and comparison of Metro Exodus: Enhanced Edition with the original game in a detailed view of Digital Foundry.

Now, the question is - who can start it? Interestingly, Metro Exodus Enhanced becomes one of the first games that cannot be run without raytracing effects, ie on GTX series graphics cards and older Radeons. Minimally, the game requires RTX 2060, and if you want to enjoy the greatest graphic luxury that the game can offer - you will need RTX 3090. Good luck with that 🙂
