The creators of Subnautica are exploring different genres for their next game

The game Subnautica: Below Zero was launched and you will soon be able to watch this underwater adventure on our YouTube channel. And judging by the comments of the development team behind that game, it could be their last game of underwater theme, and maybe the survival genre. In an interview with The Escapist magazine, studio director David Kalina said that they have already started working on the next project and that they are exploring new genres.

“I don’t think we want to be a pony with just one trick. We are already developing another project, which has not been announced yet and is in an advanced stage of development. and it is in a different environment. It will be interesting to see how people react to it. ” - said Kalina.

Although the Unknown Worlds Entertainment studio stood out the most with Subnautica, it is worth noting that they had a relatively successful series Natural Selection before it, which experienced two parts. That series was focused on strategic shooting so the studio is not foreign genres outside of survival games.
