The creators of Witcher and Cyberpunk bought a new studio

The CD Project group has become one studio bigger since yesterday. They were joined after the acquisition by the US development team The Molasses Flood, which is behind smaller games such as The Flame in the Flood and Drake Hollow. The said studio was founded in 2014 by industry veterans who worked on games like BioShock, Halo, Guitar Hero, and Rock Band.

On the occasion of this acquisition, Adam KiciƄski from the CEO of CD Projekt Group stated the following:

"We are constantly looking for teams that make games with the heart. The Molasses Flood shares our passion for video game development, are experienced, quality-oriented, and has great technological insight. I am convinced that it will bring a lot of talent and determination to our group. ”

On the other hand, Forrest Dowling, who is the person in charge of the purchased studio, stated:

“Since founding The Molasses Flood, our goal has been to create games that touch and inspire people. When CD Project approached us about a possible collaboration, we saw an incredible opportunity to reach a much wider audience through working with the company we love, creating games in the worlds we love. We can no longer be excited to continue our mission with the support of the CD Project and their incredibly talented team. ”

What exactly this will mean for us players has not yet been revealed, but it has been revealed that The Molasses Flood will work closely with CD Project Red on a new ambitious game set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077 or The Witcher. More details about the new project will be revealed in the future.
