An esports school for high school students is opening in Japan

While the job of a streamer or professional sports player is not yet technically recognized as a real occupation, a high school is being opened in Japan that should teach students exactly those occupations. In the fourth month of 2022, Tokyo will receive Esports Koutou Gakuin - the first high school to teach its students to play FPS, TPS, RTS, and MOBA games.

Students will be taught by Japanese sports professionals, and the school is sponsored by the sports team of Tokyo Verdy Football Club. The school program will be aligned with the high school curriculum in Japan, which means students will not play video games all the time. In addition to the future in sports and streaming, the school promises them a foundation for the professions of programmers, game designers, VR creators, etc.
